Wow Card - Masuda
Harga = 25.000
You have the spectator select any card (no force), sign it then return to the deck. Going through the cards, you identify their card from the back, turn it over to reveal it's the wrong card. "No problem", you say, grab a little clear plastic card holder then make the wrong card magically change to their signed card. Very visual!
Angles:
Can be done surrounded, naked.
Difficulty:
If you can already do a DL, you'll be performing this in under 5 minutes. In fact, you probably don't really read the 4-page printed manual, just opened the box and fiddle with the gimmick until you see how it works.
Gimmick:
It's a solid plastic device the size of a playing card, that contains three layers of thin plastic. I'd be careful not to drop it, step on it or get it wet. This device very very old principle I've seen used in toys long ago and is pretty well made. It may collect dust and not work as well, so I'd recommend storing it in something when not in use. I'm pretty sure heat will warp it and render the thing unusable, so "cold dry place" would be best.
Upon presentation, you wave the semi-clear plastic over the cards to show it's transparency. I also hold it at eye level and look at the spectator through it, saying "you can also use this for sunglasses". I think this emphasizes the gimmick is indeed clear.
Reactions:
I ripped open the package, did my ritualistic tossing aside of the manual, figured out how it worked and ran outside my apartment to perform. The first spectator was walking his dog, and laughed - love it. Second and third spectators said "OH MY GOD!", and the last one just kinda stood there. Pretty good reactions in my opinion, as good as Juan's Hundred Dollar bill switch, which took a considerably more practice.
An unusual thing I've noticed: No spectator wants to see the gimmick, they all think my playing cards are somehow rigged. When I remove their signed card, they inspect it hard and completely ignore the plastic case.
Overall:
It's a 100% self-working gimmicked trick. We all know the ups and downs of those type, yes? You need to carry around the gimmick, if it breaks need to buy a new one, people want to inspect the gimmick, etc.
You cannot see the card underneath the semi-clear plastic coating in low light situations. I wouldn't perform this in a club, a low-light restaurant or at night because the spec won't be able to make out the card.
Oddly enough, this is my first gimmicked trick where my specs don't wanna see the gimmick. And it's easy to do, surrounded, naked and instantly resets for walk-around for tables or for the park/mall. Combine all that with fantastic reactions, and I can see why it's been sold out for a long time.
I give WOW! a huge "wow!", and 10/10 but I think it should have cost about $20 instead of $50 for what you get. Maybe send out two gimmicks upon purchase, in case the first breaks? Or how about a non-gimmicked sleeve to switch with and hand to spectator?
